I've always been drawn to making things with simple tools. Or maybe I should say that complex tools scare me because I don't know how to use them. The bottom line is that I often create with very specific constraints (freedom is not doing everything you want or can, but being able to move freely within precise rules).
When I first started drawing, for example, I only did cartoons and I had given myself one rule: to use only one type of pen and to do them all in black and white, at most using a few shades of gray watercolor to render the shadows.
Moving creatively within precise limits has always stimulated me.
In the case of this collection of posters the starting point was different: I didn't want to limit myself in the expressive code but only in the tools used. That's why I chose to create them using only Keynote. A software for making presentations - usually very boring and only in the professional field - seemed to be the least creative and inspiring tool in the world and instead I seemed to have captured its potential.
I wasn't wrong: the use of simple shapes used in their geometric purity or sometimes altered, together with a wide variety of colors, allowed me to express myself and have fun composing abstract (but also sometimes figurative) concepts with extreme freedom. I believe that much of this freedom comes from the simplicity of Keynote's functions, as well as the fact that, once again, the limitation of the medium allowed me to liberate many creative forces left free to express themselves.
The result is a collection of 11 original tables and 3 variations deeply different from each other and obtained only with geometric figures, curves and typefaces.

Sono sempre stato attratto dal fare cose con strumenti semplici. O forse dovrei dire che gli strumenti complessi mi spaventano perché non so usarli. La sostanza è che spesso creo ponendomi dei vincoli ben precisi (la libertà non è fare tutto ciò che vuoi o puoi ma è il poterti muovere liberamente all'interno di regole precise).
Quando iniziai a disegnare facevo per esempio solo vignette e mi ero dato un'unica regola: quella di usare unicamente un tipo di penna e di farle tutte in bianco e nero, tutt'al più usando qualche sfumatura in acquerello grigio per rendere le ombre.
Il muovermi creativamente entro limiti precisi mi ha sempre stimolato.
Nel caso di questa collezione di poster il punto di partenza è stato diverso: non volevo limitarmi nel codice espressivo ma solo negli strumenti usati. Per questo ho scelto di crearli usando solo Keynote. Un software per fare presentazioni - in genere noiosissime e solo nell'ambito professionale - sembrava lo strumento meno creativo e ispirante del mondo e invece mi pareva di averne colto delle potenzialità.
Non mi sbagliavo: l'uso di forme semplici impiegate nella loro purezza geometrica o a volte alterate, insieme a una grande varietà cromatica, mi ha permesso di esprimermi e divertirmi a comporre concetti astratti (ma anche talvolta figurativi) con estrema libertà. Credo che molta di questa libertà discenda dalla semplicità delle funzioni di Keynote, oltre al fatto che, ancora una volta, la limitazione del mezzo era in grado di liberare molte forze creative lasciate libere di esprimersi.
Il risultato è una collezione di 11 tavole originali e 3 variazioni profondamente diverse fra di loro e ottenute solo con figure geometriche, curve e caratteri tipografici.
